Allegiant Air is embarking on its most significant expansion drive yet in its 27-year history, with plans to add 44 new nonstop routes and three new city destinations to its vast network in 2025. The Las Vegas-based airline is gearing up for this expansion by acquiring new aircraft and hiring more staff. One of the focal points of this expansion includes the addition of new routes to Gulf Shores Airport (GUF) in Alabama, Colorado Springs Airport (COS) in Colorado, and Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) in South Carolina.
To celebrate the launch of this ambitious program, Allegiant Air has kicked off a fare sale, offering one-way tickets on the new routes starting at just $39. These new flights, set to commence in February 2025, will significantly enhance the airline's network by connecting 51 cities across the United States. Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, shared the airline's enthusiasm, stating, “We’re excited to announce that Allegiant is expanding nationwide, offering even more travel options to our customers. These additions reflect our ongoing commitment to meet customer demand."
The decision to introduce these new routes represents one of the most substantial service expansions in Allegiant’s history. This move is motivated by the strong demand for leisure travel and the company's dedication to providing affordable airfare to communities that have limited or no air service options. Allegiant's mission is to cater to the needs of leisure travelers by providing cost-effective fares and convenient nonstop flights.
In addition to the new routes mentioned above, Allegiant Air is also expanding its flight programs from various other mainland US airports. The airline, which took off for the first time in 1999, has experienced rapid growth and has established itself as a key player in the US market. In an industry where smaller carriers often struggle against larger legacy airlines, Allegiant has managed to thrive. Currently, Allegiant operates a fleet of 130 aircraft, consisting of Airbus A319s, A320s, and a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200. The carrier has additional 737 MAX aircraft on order, demonstrating its commitment to further growth in the coming years.
