This exciting project was officially kicked off on April 30, 2025, with Korean Air partnering with Bucheon City at the prestigious Bucheon Arts Center.

In a statement, a Korean Air spokesperson emphasized the significance of this endeavor, stating, “This is more than just a facility; it’s the launchpad for Korea's future in aviation. We are laying the foundation to lead the future of air mobility while deepening our commitment to safety, sustainability, and global connectivity.”
Spanning approximately 65,800 square meters, the state-of-the-art facility will house over 1,000 staff members, including expert researchers and trainers, serving as a comprehensive research and training hub. The Bucheon complex will consist of three key components: a UAV Research Center dedicated to developing advanced software and AI for unmanned aerial vehicles, a Flight Training Center that will stand as the largest pilot training facility in Asia, capable of training up to 21,600 pilots annually, and a Safety Experience Center providing immersive industrial safety training for airline personnel, as well as educational programs for local businesses, students, and residents.
Anticipated to commence construction in 2027, the facility is slated to begin operations in May 2030. This bold initiative not only reflects Korean Air's commitment to innovation and safety but also highlights its vision for a dynamic and sustainable future in aviation.
