Nordwind Airlines, a Russian airline, has recently announced the launch of a new nonstop route connecting Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport with Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. The inaugural flight took off on July 27, 2025, using a Boeing 777-200ER with a seating capacity of 393 passengers, divided into six business class seats and 387 economy class seats.
Initially, the flights will operate once a month, with the potential for increased frequency depending on market demand. The debut flight was a hit, with all tickets for the 44,700 Rubles (approximately US$560 / €478) fare reportedly sold out.
This new service, designated as flight number N46107, underscores the growing ties between Russia and North Korea amidst their collaborative efforts in certain global conflicts. Interestingly, this isn't the only direct air link between these two countries. Air Koryo, North Korea's national carrier, also offers scheduled flights between Pyongyang and Vladivostok, the largest city on Russia's Pacific coast, utilizing a Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft for this route.
The introduction of this new air service not only enhances travel options between Russia and North Korea but also reflects the evolving dynamics in the region. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting aviation developments with Pilotcenter.net News!
